Mission of the Program
translate: Español - Français

The Buffalo Niagara Partnership's mission is to organize and undertake actions to expand private sector jobs and stimulate investment in the Buffalo Niagara region. The Partnership has created the Diversity Supplier Program to help accomplish that mission by facilitating and enhancing purchasing relationships between corporations and Minority and Women Business Enterprises (M/WBEs) in the region. Ideals of fairness, equal opportunity and fostering community economic development are the driving forces.

Program Objectives:

  1. Establish and facilitate solid long-term relationships between corporations and M/WBEs in Buffalo Niagara to increase the percentage of spending with minority and women-owned companies. To accomplish this the Partnership will:
    • Create and manage a database of M/WBEs for procurement opportunities.
    • Provide quarterly feedback sessions and semi-annual matchmaking fairs between corporations and M/WBEs to exchange information and resources.
    • Provide on-going communications to participating Minority and Women Business Enterprises (M/WBE).
  2. Increase number of participating corporations and M/WBEs.

  3. Encourage the continuation of the Diversity Supplier Program to M/WBEs by developing a 1st and 2nd Tier minority supplier program.
    • Tier 1 - Primary contract between corporation and M/WBEs.
    • Tier 2 - Corporation encourages prime suppliers to engage in subcontracting with other minority and women businesses.
